Ariana Quiñónez is a Chicana comedy/drama writer raised on Telemundo telenovelas and Nora Ephron rom-coms. As a second-rate mariachi violinist from Bakersfield, California, she has spent the past few decades working hard to entertain drunk Mexicans during the most magical moments of their lives.

Ariana studied English Lit and Screenwriting at Loyola Marymount University, where she later helped produce/write/direct the series of plays CROSSWORDS as an alum. A public school nepo baby, Ariana worked as a teacher before selling her first feature to PixL, and earned her fandom crew moonlighting as an entertainment journalist and podcast host for Hypable.com.

Ariana has written on ABC’s HOME ECONOMICS and the CW’s ROSWELL, NEW MEXICO. An alum of both the Disney TV Writing Program and Disney Publishing Multi-Hyphenate Initiative, Ariana’s pilot, TO ALL THE DEAD BOYS I’VE SLAYED BEFORE was selected for Coverfly’s Best Unproduced Pilot List, and her series AUSTENTATIOUS was produced by Idina Menzel and Liz Heldens at 20th TV.

Ariana is currently writing the film adaptation of Pam Muñóz Ryan’s award-winning novel ESPERANZA RISING, as well as a Selena-inspired musical feature for HYBE Latin America.
